keyboard problems
Hi all,
This might seem like a stupid post But hey, this is the lizard lounge after allI have a keyboard problem! There are certain characters I can't type when I'm holding down the left shift-button, but they work with the right shift-button.. The characters are: e, t, d, c, b and 3 Now they weren't this way before I went to sleep.. does anyone know what the problem might be? I really need my left shift-button.. ![]()

That's wierd... something similar happened to me before.
1) Do you have any drinks/liquid near the keyboard... If so, do you have any pets that may have possibly dropped anything? 2) Try the ever-so-famous, unplug-replug theory. Unplug your keyboard, power-down your system, and reboot it... it may work! 3) Try to remove the shift-key and check for any dirt/residue build-up underneath the key. Btw, what type of keyboard is it? Is it fairly new? Hope you get it working!

I've already tried removing the dirt underneath the keys.. and it's not number 1.. so I guess I can try doing number 2..

Ok, I found the reason..
I turned off the computer, unplugged and plugged the cable, turned it on, and was met by a message that said: "system settings not set"... So I had to set some IRQ settings and stuff like that.. and when I finally got into windows, I had to set the date and time.. ![]() The good news is that my keyboard now works again, so I'm content ![]() |
