Mail Server Software

Allo all,

I've been pondering setting up my own hosting for a few clients of mine, and am wondering if anyone's had any experience with any good Windows mail server software.

Failing that, i might go the linux route for my DNS and Mail servers.

Cheers,

stumpy

Not really sure my man.. You could always use Exchange.. it's the biggest that was written for the Windows environment.. you could also try something like

Dmail

http://netwinsite.com/dmail_first.htm

or

surgemail

http://netwinsite.com/surgemail/

Hey - well - the search is over - for the time being...

I had googled prior to posting, and sussed out a few that looked good. I was after people's experiences w/ mail server software - doesn't look like anyones made the jump.

I tried a few:
FTGate (http://www.ftgate.com): not bad, decent web admin interface, not too tricky to setup, could see myself using this one later on, once i need some heavy duty options.
SurgeMail (http://netwinsite.com/surgemail/): not good. Very complex, un-intuitive web admin interface, not real organisation or information.
602Pro LAN SUITE (http://www.software602.com/products/ls/): as the name suggests, has a whole bunch of other utilities that come with it (fax server, firewall, webserver, SSL mail), which i'm not using, yet, but could... best feature tho: it's FREE! for < 5 users... was an absolute cinch to setup - literally took 3mins!!

Yeah, it's actually really easy to administer.. It lets you setup LADP and once it's setup it's not hard to maintain..
