matrix reloaded

i must say i was overall unhappy with this movie... sure the effects are what brings you in to see the movie and the concept is pretty nice but they are in the second movie and they are still just teaching.... and then they claim the finale to it and everything ends on the third one.. in my opinion that is either too short or the teaching part of the movie is too long. i just can't understand why they think they can waster our time like this...

its a decent movie and deservs recognition but it doesn't live up to the reputation it has... in my humble opinion of course

props for the good post R3N!

Personally, I LOVED IT! I've gotta go see it again tho - the part where he meets the architect is full-on... lotsa big ideas/theories thrown around. Actually, it's weird that a movie with so much action can have such great philosophical theories thrown around.

My questions: I'm stumped @ why Agent Smith is still hell bent on killing Neo, even tho he's free from the matrix... i don't get it... AND, why he still thinks he can beat him after getting his ass kicked in pt1....

The action scene's - goddam, once again the Wachowski boys have raised the bar... heaps of unbelievable bullet time sequences, I've got no idea how they did some of them. Lotsa kewl sfx too - the white twins teleport trick ("That's a nice trick"), Neo's super jump, the big truck collision...

To answer your questions R3N, they're not really learning anything anymore. They're on a mission to destroy the matrix, to create a normal, real environment for humans to live again.

maybe i just get tired of things too fast, the fight scenes are incredible, as far tech goes the movie has started a revolution in theatric imagery.

but little details like the one about agent smith annoy for some reason...

or maybe i am just pissed at the whole movie b/c of the ending *(sorry i hope i didn't spoil this for anyone)*

hey - if people haven't seen it, then they shouldn't read this thread!!! :P

Yeah - i felt the ending just kinda happened, no build up... a bit sudden... tho pt3 is coming out in Nov so not long to wait, plus it should continue pretty smoothly.

PS - i went to the try-outs for the agent smith double here in syd. They hired something like 100 guys for the park fight scene. I rocked up, and there was a queue about 800m long - 3 hour wait. bugger that!

the ending is a bugger b/c it the movie doesn't even revolve around it, it does somethign completely different and all of a sudden bam!

Intertesting - I think because of that very reason, the ending was good.. better than Neo [big spoiler] saving all of Zion... that woulda been a sappy ending...

Did he get the sentinel killing power while yakking to the architect?

i am thinking he in his other "personailities" did something to unlock the encryption or whatever.... he has to be good for something more than just fighting... i am thinking the "phropecy" is some kind of a huge firewall destroyer, hehe

Just found a few "explanations" (theories explored) for my questions....

http://www.msnbc.com/news/917048.asp

Seems we're not really supposed to know why agent smith is on a killing mission, or why he thinks he can beat Neo, or how/why Neo can use his power's in Zion (i.e. the "real world")... gotta wait for 3!

personally i think neo is a bug, nonexisting, not a human... i think he is just a program that has found its way through leaps and bounds of the matrix/real world boundries, i think he is a machine that thinks its real.... i think that what 3 has in store for neo's faith at the end, us finding out he is not real and him being some kind of mediator between machine world and mankind...

Superman?

you gotta admit some of those scenes where he is flying around are pretty crappy. and not to sound like i didnt appriciate the movie (cause i did) after seeing LOR 2 and how they did golem Neo looking like a mortal kombat charter from my PS1. I'm going to have to wait for the third one to bust my skull on the story.

X-men was amazing!!

Later
Dave

Yeah - for some reason, they really f**ked up the flying "superman" scenes... twas weird - everything in the movie is of such high quality, then they do the flying so badly. Lucky it only happened for a few seconds.

Did anyone notice Trinity using a SSH exploit to hack a door on the mainframe... she found the hole using Nmap!!

did ppl actually understand the movie..?

i mean i think the architecture part was designed so that we wouldn't understand. like he said..."ur only human so u won't understand blah blah"

but this is what i think has happened.

the fact that smithy was in that hallway is a clue that he is a part of architecture's big plan. or if it wasn't then it might be something that is different from other "one"s before neo. Like he might screw up the architecture's plan by killing neo or something dunno..but he is some how tighly into the story.

so my understanding is that everyone including neo and morpheous is screwed by architecture. So zion and whole beginning of the matrix is planned. Also oracle screwed them too.

I think 3rd one might have story that's abit like 13th floor..a fake world inside a fake world. ..seeing that neo can use his powers outside the matrix.... u never know..

over all i wasn't too happy with the movie

the gfx sucked.. come on the scene of neo fighting gzillion of smithy was soo fake...so unconvincing...it looked like a bad PC game.

fighting scences were too slow . 1st movie set theexpectations that neo is virtually unbeatable and **** fast...like u need to be in bullettime to see all his moves..but he was slow when he was fighting that guy with oracle...way too slow...I don't think the fighting moves were interesting either..they were the same and repeated over and over and over.

Neo was originally a hacker, in the 1st part...maybe that's a clue

Im hoping to go and see it this Saturday but none of us are 15 so we will have to scam our way in

Thanks for spoiling the story for me ppl

you did not have to read.

I thought they should have made an effort to use more live action instead of CG, don’t get me wrong im all for CG, but it looked like bunk in this movie.

I thought they were making the dialog more confusing than it really was (if that makes sense) the whole scene with the oracle "do, no I do, you do, do, do, blah, blah, blah" the lines were simpler and had more impact in the first one.
