Hi guys,
Well, it's been a long, hard fight to get DevArticles to where it is, and I'm proud that I managed to turn a site that I started from my bedroom into one of the most respected development sites on the net. From the 200 uniques a day DevArticles was getting in its first week, to the hundreds of thousands that it gets now, I've seen the site grow, and I couldn't even count how many people that we've helped with our articles and our forums. Anyhow, having said that, everyone obviously knows that software development is my passion. Over the last year or so, me and one of my business partners have founded a new company, called Interspire (http://www.interspire.com). Interspire is going great guns, and some of you may know our products: DevEdit, WebEdit, ActiveKB, SendStudio, etc. Anyhow, Interspire has been taking up alot of my time, and the reason I am making this post is to let you guys know that I've sold DevArticles. It wasn't an easy decision, and I toiled on it for a while, however I wanted to do what was in the best interests of the DevArticles staff, and also for you guys. DevArticles in now part of the DeveloperShed network, which includes devshed.com, aspfree.com, seochat.com, etc. Jon Caputo is the president of DeveloperShed Inc, and we're working together during this transitional phase. In terms of site content, layout, etc, nothing will change. Frank still edits articles and our forum moderators aren't going anywhere. Now that DevArticles is part of the DeveloperShed network, I see the following positives: - More quality articles including both beginner and "hardcore" articles - More traffic to DevArticles.com, meaning that even more people will visit the forums, offer their help, and ultimately find a soltuion to the development problem quicker - DevArticles is now a much more important player in the development work due to the increase in traffic I'll still be posting in the forums here, and I'll be helping Jon out with new ideas and strategies, etc. I guess I'll just wrap up by thanking all of our visitors over the last 2 years, and also our fantastic forum moderators for their awesome work in building our forums up to 10,000 members and providing some of the best, most professional help to people that they only know by an alias in our forums. This will be my last forum post as an admin, so I wish everyone well, and I'll hand the reigns over to Jon now Regards, Mitchell Harper Founder, DevArticles.com |

Thanks for the intro Mitch!
Hey Folks,
My name is Jon Caputo, and I am happy and proud to be a part of such a wonderful resource as DevArticles.com - I know that Mitch had many interested parties that wanted to purchase DevArticles, and I am happy he chose the Developer Shed Network. We will do our best to continue to grow DevArticles and continue to bring the excellent content and tutorials you have come to rely upon. As Mitch said, it is my every hope that all of the Mods will stay on board, and Frank Manno who is a most EXCELLENT writer will be staying on board to continue the great DevArticles newsletter, as well as continue to deliver the great content found here. Looking forward to talking to all of you! |

Mytch,
I may not be the first to do so, but let me congratulate you on doing such a fine job with this community in the first place. I congratulate you on moving forward. Jcaputo, Welcome... I'm glad the Developer Shed Network is the one taking over this site. Look forward to some serious feedback from me over the next few weeks as I follow how the site develops.

Here to Stay!
Hey everyone,
Sorry for the late post, but I wanted to give a heads-up to everyone who may still be wondering where I stand in all of this. I'm happy to say that I've been asked to stay on with Jonathan and the rest of the Developer Shed crew! I'm also glad to say that any plans that may come for DevArticles will only make it grow stronger! For those who haven't already heard me say it, we've got one of the greatest communities around, and it couldn't be done without the support of everyone involved, including the moderators! Once again, congratulations to both Mitch and Jonathan!

hey guys,
well, like nicat23 said, its amazing what happens in a few months! I've not been posting much recently cos of work load, so when I came back, I found that there was a new company called "InterSpire" and DevArticles is now part of the developer shed network!! ![]() I always think that most things change for the better, and although this site may not change that much, it's going to be nice to see how it develops even further as one of the leading developer sources of information. Well done Mitch for creating one of the best website communities around, but not only well dones to mitch, also everyone who contributed to the site has helped it grow! Big pat on the back for everyone!! ![]() and welcome to Jon! Looking forward to seeing what plans you have for the site!! Finally - Good luck to Mitch and interspire, I wish you all the best!! |
