I checked out a few of the recommended URLs above and have the following comments:

www.phpworld.com -- this site just doesn't do it for me. The articles are simply not very informative. The lack of a "Printer Only" version when looking over an article totally turns me off. I do most of my reading offline and avoid sites that require me to page next thru the entire article. To me, the forums may be the only thing going for this site. I won't be returning...

www.phpbuilder.com -- this site appears to have interesting content, but the design and layout is not appealing to me. I'm especially turned off by the long list of newsgroup posting that appears at the end of every article. Even though this site has a "Printer Only" version, the online user experience , in my opinion, is diminished by the extraneous information that is presented. I only return to this site when google returns a hit on something I'm looking for.

www.phpcomplete.com -- this site seemed interesting and has useful information. The layout is kind of distracting and sometimes annoying. I will likely not make a return...

www.webmonkey.com -- this site seems very promising. The design reminds me of www.sitepoint.com. I see interesting PHP articles and will defintely visit again. The only annoying thing I found was the ads are way too distracting -- they're everywhere. At the top, on the side, and even on the print only version. Will defintely return and take a closer look and see what other goodies are available....

www.devshed.com -- I've been using this site for about 3 months now and return almost daily for updates. The content is rich and very informative. I rate this site almost the same as devarticles as far as content goes!

www.sitepoint.com -- I have also been using this site for about 3-4 months and return almost daily for updates. It doesn't appear to be dedicated strictly for developers, but does have a bunch of content related to site design, starting your own business, and of course, Kevin Yank's PHP book. I definitely like the layout of sitepoint and find it very similar (if not the same) look-and-feel of devarticles.

All in all, I still prefer devarticles for its content, site design, ease of use, and professional look and feel. I visit devarticles at least 2 or 3 times a day and, in my opinion, is the best developer resouce on the web.

Once Mitch and his team get the downloads area up and running, I'm sure it will be even better!!!!

Here is an idea -- Mitch, why not have a "Top 10 Links" section on devArticles where users can vote on the best developer websites. You could have three (3) rates for each site:

1) Useful
2) Informative
3) Innovative
