University Project Ideas?

Hello people,

Basically i've got a bit of a writers block! The problem is that my university require us all to do a hardware & software final year project that is to take around 500-800 hours. Previous ideas have included:

Triangulate mobile phones so that companys that use engineers or taxis can cheaply estimate back to base times, and being able to view this info on a PDA

USB to SCSI (and visa versa) convertor (using vhdl and firmware updates)


My project unfortunatly came back as too simple which was an improvement on the current ABS braking system.


If anyone has any suggestions on a topic that I can use for a final year project I would be VERY gratefull!!!
