Support for MS-DOS stopped several years ago. However, you still get a CMD shell in every new Windows version, which in many respects is more powerful than the old DOS was. So I wouldn't worry for now...

I used to work with IBM XT's and AT's with 30mb drives and 5.25" floppy drives just using DOS running batch commands to run C programs about 20 years ago. You would have loved it then being in DOS heaven, except they didn't have iPods! just walkmans! lol

Yeah. Those were the times.
My first computer didn't even have a harddisk, only two 5.25" floppy drives (DD, only 360 KB). You used one drive for the OS, and the other for the program you wanted to run :-) Even had a 2400 baud modem.. :-) |

Tell us why Colton that you are sooo into MS-DOS at the moment, it can't be for old time sake. It's like a young kid who get into music like the Stones, The Who or Pink Floyd saying it's "really powerful stuff"!

I've always been into DOS. One of my three screens is permanently dedicated to a CMD shell (or more than one).
Hence my user-title. Why Colton22 is interested I don't know, but I'm only too glad to spread the magic :-) (And the Stones, Who and Pink Floyd ROCK! ) |

I missed the Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones comment... That was my biggest complaint last weekend while venturing through a downtown park... all these kids in AC/DC and Pink Floyd shirts... It's just a trendy thing to do; if you quiz them on anything relating to the band ("Name ONE album!") they'll likely fail.
I wish DOS played more of a role in Windows computing than it does. Linux lets me perform complicated functions with ease (OS X as well)... it's weird to say, but Windows feels behind the times by not keeping the twenty year old scripting. =)

Do you say that to all the kids in Toronto Parks or only the ones with pre-80's music band t-shirts? There is a TV character in the UK who might do that called Victor Mildrew although he might be a bit older than you!
