who got an xbox

hey all. did anyone get an xbox when they came out? i'm thinking of getting one but im not sure. project gotham racing looks good but i heard that u get points for drifting? if the xbox better than the ps2? i've got a ps2 and i love it.

just out of curoisity, which platform are the xbox games made on and with what language? some microsoft propriatary language?

I haven't purchased an X-Box as yet but I get a free one for a couple of weeks each month. I'm the Tech Correspondant for a student magazine in Ireland so I get to test new cool stuff.

I got 7 games to test: Halo, Project Gotham Racer, Fuzion Frenzy, Dead or Alive 3, Rallisport Challenge, Bloodwake, and Amped. I havent played them all that much yet but Halo seems amazing, PGR also is very impressive. The price is a bit steep here aswell at €479 euros so I'll be waiting a while for the price to fall before purchasing my own.

I got a xbox the first day it came out, i acutally took a day off work so i could play it. heheh. The reason i got it was for Halo. this game kicks arse(ass). If your thinking about gotham, forget it, the game is crap, i would only buy it if it was $50AU($25US) apart from the damage your car can recive, GT3 on PS2 kicks it arse, i bought GT3 the day it came out because i knew it was a quality game + plus i own the others.

Gotham, is also very arcady, interms of points for doing slids and overtaking,

Yeah i was gonna buy one but I played Gotham at electronic boutique the other day... ugh armm no. i raced a porsche boxter s and it slid everywhere. the handling is nothing compared to GT3. as for the way the games are made i wouldnt have a clue. goto www.xbox.com, they might have details there.

yeah, as i said, if ur gonna get a xbox so u can play racing games forget it. otherwise if ya got the money get one, the effects on halo kick arse.

I wanted to get a X-Box for my birthday but I ended up coming home with a Playstation 2.

PS2 at the moment has heaps of games, compaired to xbox, so in a way, its better that you get a PS2, but soon Xbox should be bringing out heaps of good games (in australia) so i cant wait for them

I bought one back in december with halo, NFL fever, and gotham racing. Since beating them all in aobut 2 week of play it has been sitting collecting dust. haven't seen an good games come out that I want to buy yet. May just sell it and wait for PS3.

yeah, my xbox has been colecting dust latley, due to lack of quality games and cash, but because of MS droping the price of the xbox, im elegable for the loyaty pack, so i should recive my 2 free games and my xtra controller soon

MS has dropped the price because of poor sales and are going to compensate existing purchesers.

Yes you can get a small kit that will allow linux to run on PS2.

yeah a loyalty pack, i dont know about other countries but in australia, if you bought the xbox full price, you get 2 free games and a free controller.
