Automatic resizing of IE window to fit
Hey Everybody
I'm pretty new at 'trying' to make websites. I'm doing one for my dad but, god bless his soul, he don't see very well and runs his monitor at 800x600. Is there any way to make the site change size automatically according to screen settings?? I'm in a bit of a jam, anyone got an answer to this one....... I use CuteSiteBuilder and have no option of using JS!!! Thanx |

Don't resize the browser. Any site that resizes my browser is closed before I even look at the content. Just design your site so that it expands to fill the complete width of the browser. If, for example, you had everything in one large table (which is a bad idea because you should really be using CSS), you'd want to make sure its width was set to 100%, rather than a certain number of pixels.

This is where layout and design comes in handy.
I think the best solution is to simply watch your font sizes.... Since you know he uses 800x600, design the site at that resolution for him... Generally, the site will work on higher resolutions, just perhaps with more whitespace... Resizing the window is rarely a good idea. |
