Email web application...

Greetings,
Im an amateur programmer.Actually i just started programming, and I have a part time freelance i took up on lotus web application. I am having problem trying to figure how to create a button on the web using lotus notes to send an email to a particular recipient. The recipient email will be entered manually on text field and the button will trigger an email to send to that person. Can anyone teach me how? I would like to learn. Websites links or codes will b useful to this scenario.
