Navigational icons/graphics

Does anyone know of a website on the net offering royalty free navigational icons/graphics such as a 'home' icon (small house) to assist in the layout of my new website?

I've found a few out there but they look unprofessional and they're not easy to customize (color & size).

brettscott,

Off the top of my head I don't know of any... Have you tried google at all?

Also, if you use Photoshop, there are some nice "symbols" that you could use for your nagivational images.

If you use another graphics application, there may be some available as well.

Flash has a bunch as default buttons, once you bring them in, you can export your file as a jpg.

i think dreamweaver has some to.

lastly you can go to other website and save theirs (im not done)

DO NOT do this to copy them!!!

open those files in a graphics software such as photoshop and study the files on a pixel level. you will be suprised to see that some of those neat effect are made up up very few colors. anyway long story short, by doing this you can begin to develop your own buttons.

hope that helps

Thanks for your help guys!

Doh, that sounds like a lot of hard work (especially for a non-graphical person such as myself).

Thanks again

Brett

Brett,

Hehehe.. It's all in a day's work! Besides, you'll definitely sharpen your graphics skills.

Good luck!

a really nice trick to give your website a cool windows xp look is creating icon sized buttons like the ones in ie or other windows xp icons. examples can be found in "%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll". I am not sure if u can just use those though because they may be copyrighted by microsoft
