Rich text editor with region selection tool(MS Paint style rectagular selection tool)

Hi,

I need to give region selection option for page editing on a rich text editor.

Example:: if i cut and paste the contents of a page on a rich text editor and if i want to select entire left menu box without selecting other contents using MSPaint style rectagular region selection tool.

Is this possible at all, since region selection works with Images and this is text editing. Any suggetion will be appreciated.
