No, i'm not from DreamHost. - but i'm pretty impressed with their hosting. They just passed the 200,000 domain mark and are still able to keep their customers happy. Downsides are the usual for large hosts (support response time, random short outages, etc...) but if you're looking for a place to test out some Rails apps its a good place to go.

I actually signed up for TextDrive's grilling thing (I linked above).
I love the idea of one-time-fee. In theory, if I remain with them for 10 years, it's only $50 a year... compared to the $160 I paid for PHP hosting the past three years...

Dreamhost sounds pretty sweet too, however frankly, I don't think I need that much space/bandwidth. =)

Yeah - DH really serves as a garden to seed, water, and sprout as many Rails apps as you have time for...If you're ready to rock and roll then there are many good options to choose from. 'Glad TextDrive is working well for you - I completely appreciate the fact that half of their sales goes toward Rails development.
