Web Server Specifications

I am trying to configure a new web server which would be able to handle the following parameters:

-Windows 2000 or 2003 server
-Microsoft SQL Server 2000
-Latest IIS version based on OS
-.NET 1.1 running c# pages
-4000 unique visitors a day and growing

Can anyone recommend perhaps the minimal processor and RAM per these specs.

You don't need much at all to run that. If you're buying a new box, you can get the cheapest, slowest CPU available, but with prices so cheap, why bother. Just get an above average machine, it'll last longer. 512MB is fine

Is there a standard for the amount of ram you should have per user session? We are expecting to grow to atleast 10,000 unique users a day soon.

You can very easily change the amount of RAM and resources assigned to each domain on your IIS box. If you're planning on a lot of users (10,000 isn't that much), then just get more RAM.

You can get 4000-6000 uniques on a 1GHZ machine fine with 768RAM minimum!
