Apache access log help. and other questions.

Ok i have Linux Ubuntu. i used to use win with Apache and ServU.
anyhow....
Apache installed good. it seems to be working. but now i'm getting an access log that i've not seen before.. please read....

127.0.0.1 - - [24/Nov/2008:06:32:12 -0700] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 8188 "-" "Python-urllib/2.5"

OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!!!!!!!!!!

please how do i stop this.? fix it? HELP...

that is what is blocked.....
But i got that on in windows. also. need i be worried?

FTP. tried gadmin proftpd. couldn't get the GUI to load. and when i went to console and typed sudo gadmin-proftp it says segmentation fault.
or somethign of the nature..
so uninstalled it.
second was wu-ftp bad thing with it was... well i couldn't see any of the files in /home/ftp just by clickin a link. but if i loged in via... Gftp. theni could see EVERYTHING!!!! i don't want that and could get around it. or just don't know how to get around it. so anyhow.. i need anonymous access to be locked into one dir. and then a named account. to be locked into a dif dir with more folders. i couldn't get this ..
