Apache "installation wizard interrupted" error

When running the apache_1.3.27-win32-x86-no_src.msi, I get the above message.
Win 2K, IIS installed, no firewall, antivirus or other windows programs running. Tried over half a dozen times, reboots and all.
Please be as condescending as you want to in your replies. I am entirely unaquainted with Apache.

Bevor Installation stopp Internet Information Service and make sure your IIS runs on a different port.

Port Example:

IIS: Port 8000
Apache: 80 (by default after installation).

Hope this helps,
webmeister

Nothing else fancy on this, only use 80 for IE browsing. And I haven't nstalled MySQL or PHP until Apache is installed. I'm trying the get this going according to Ben's article. Should I install in a different order, such as install MySQL, followed by Apache?
I also tried disconnecting my cable modem, just in case it was causing a problem. No change.

My question(s) is/are this: Why are you installing IIS and apache on the same machine? Are you wanting to setup some sort of proxy or something and use apache for local testing but use IIS for your actual site hosting?

Have you tried uninstalling IIS entirely and rebooting, then going to install apache? Also what OS are you running? And are you running as an administrator with all other web services terminated before you are trying to install it?

In the past I have received that message with many programs, and the solution has been the same each time:
Select the installation file or files
Goto the "security" tab
Add a user and type "Everyone"
Tick the "full control" box for "Everyone"
Apply
Install

Note - this only applies to XP i think

Permission Change Works

Thanks tomdrayson!

Your solution worked on Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP1 as well. I thought I was going to go nutz!

I added Everyone to the security on the .msi file for Apache 2.0.47 and gave Everyone full permission. No more error!
