Apache serves httpd/unix-directory for non-existing subdomains [fixed]
Hi there
I have a couple of domains and one server. So i decided to use virtual hosts on my apache 2. But there is a great problem... For example: If i go to ... www.mydomainname.com ... all works well... If i go to ... nonexistingsubdomain.mydomainname.com ... a download dialog appers and offers me to download a empty file of kind of httpd/unix-directory. How can i fix it? May a '404 not found' or the browsers way 'website could not be found'-message would be nice ![]() Any ideas? |

Ok ... meanwhile i found the problem. If Apache doesnt find a VirtualHost which fits the URL it redirects to the first VirtualHost or in my case to the DocumentRoot ... because of there is no Index-File and no Directory Protection it serves this Unix-Directory as a empty file...
