Arrow .html files on Apache server ????

I am a newbe, so the question is probably stupid, but anyway. I just installed the Apache server. It works, I guess(i tested as it was sed in instraction). Now I want my html files for my web site, to be displayed from the server. Where do I store them, in which folder?
Also I have installed PHP . The server doesn't show any errors anymore, so I asume , theren't any. So , where do I store the .php files , to test if, PHP is working fine and to use them later on my web site? May be I have to do some configuration again ?
Please answer as soon as possible, I need it to be done today !

If you want to change the directory, open httpd.conf in the conf folder of your Apache directory.

Search for DocumentRoot and change that value, as well as the value in the <Directory> node, most likely soon after.

Hope this helps some?

Thanks, it works now ! Now I have another problem-with Perl When I call cgi script from my html page, I see the source code of the cgi sript , not the result of the script execution ?????
I did all the configurations, but now result. It looks like, the scripts are not associated with perl. I saved them with .cgi extention, but the icon looks like Windows doesn't know which program to choose to execute them.Could you tell me exactly which configurations to make to Apache server? May be there is something I missed.
