Unhappy doesn't work

I've installed Apache HTTP Server 1.3.27 on W2K (following Ben's instructions) and then tryed to access it whit IE (http://localhost/) but i receive an error (Unable to determine IP address from host name for localhost ). I read this forum and tryed everything i can....but it doesn't work!!!!Maybe someone can help

if that doesnt work, then there must be something else wrong.

Also you should read the forums rules, next time when you start a thread, could you please make your title a bit more descriptive the doesnt work. If you make your thread more descriptive more people will view your thread, and your got more chance of getting help.

Unhappy i'm stuck :(

ok next time title will be understandableI've spend many time by reading and editing httpd.conf, i don't know what have i done but i've receive welcome message, yeah!!! So many joy But......i restart my pc ( i have in hhd c: win98 and in d: w2k) to win98 have done my work and restart to w2k again, and ofcourse - an error. when i try to access server whit http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 or http://my pc name i receive an error like this:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
what's now???

Do i understand correctly?

You have two versions of Windows installed on your computer: 98 & 2000?

You have installed Apache in Windows 2000, and when you restart into Windows 98 your page doesn't load?

Therefore, when you reboot into Windows 2000, the Apache system-service won't start since you're in an entirely different instance of Windows.

If you want to test Apache in Windows 98, you should install it there as well.
