Hello,
I'm "trying" to build/learn/host my first web site, but I'm a little confused so here we go: URL which you should see a modified Apache test page. It's dir. is /var/www/html/ My IP Based Virtual Hosts: URL which you should see a Gallery Test page .php It's dir. is /var/www/html/brewhound/ When I type in 192.168.111.6 the page appears fine. Can you see anything? URL which you should see the Apache test page. It's dir. is /var/www/americanmicrobeers/ When I type in 192.168.111.7 I see the Apache test page not the modified one. Only when I type in 192.168.111.7/index.html do I see the modified page? I want to see the modified page when I type in 192.168.111.7 or when you type in URL ? Any ideas? |

The reason your able to see it as 192.168.xxx.xxx is because thats the internal IP on your LAN. I am guessing your using some sort of router/firewall. What you would have to do, if you want everyone to see is you have to find out the IP that you were assigned by your IP (WAN Address?). The easiest way to do this, is to go to URL
Once you know your IP Address, then you must use your router/firewall and redirect any request on port 80 to go to your machine, which is the one hosting the web page. If you have any questions on doing this... I just told you the process, its a bit hard to explain the exact procedures without knowing how you have everything set up... so good luck |

I have WatchGuard's SOHO6 firewall w/ the ability to dynamically update my IP (dyndns.org). Maybe I can work through this in another way.
Is there a way or service that I can log in remotely, then from that computer (location) view my web page. The other option is wait to go to work and troubleshoot from there? |

Hi, I am also a newby with apache and web servers,
I installed apache on a Windows XP, and I can access everything from my lan, but I cant see the web pages from outside. I enabled the dmz on my firewall to the machine running apache, therefore I reckon that any request with my wan ip address should be redirect to that machine, but IT DOESN'T WORKS ![]() do I need to change anything in the apache config file, like in the example provided by nxrw33?? any help will be extremely appreciated. |
