ok very simple for most of you im sure. I register a name on godaddy, they offer me nameservers. how does apache go from my windows box's directory as outlined in the httpd.conf file to maybe my hosts file or my isp's dns server to reach the domain name?
how do i connect that domain i bought on godaddy or wherever to apache? does using godaddy nameservers assumes im hosting with them? so i need my own nameservers? do i need to buy some or just edit my hosts file. I am not sure i know what im talking about but if you get what im saying please point me in the right direction. |

you'll get the name servers once you've actually purchased a webhosting account. you right now only bought a domain name, and that alone isn't going to help you with name servers, so you'll have to purchase hosting for this to be any understanding for you.
