Apache2: Flash Fails Under Firefox 2
I have Apache 2 running under a Win2k local host and a Flash based site which works under IE and Opera but not under FireFox 2. FireFox does display the flash elements when the same site is running on an external host so I suspect the problem is an Apache config problem on my local host. Any suggestions much appreciated. TIA.

hmmm that's funny i have my site that's flash driven, but yet the flash shows up just fine.
did you by any chance install the adblock script for ff, if so try enabling your localhost site, so things show up.

No AdBlock Installed
Thanks but I haven't got adblock installed and as I said, the same site content works fine under FireFox from an external host. So it must be something to do with how I have Apache 2 setup on my local server. I've already tried lots of config changes without success and can't find anything directly related to the problem on the web. I could just ignore it since my external host works fine but I like to suss these sorts of issues out.

Is Flash installed?
You likely need to install the Flash player plugin for Firefox. Check here for the different versions.

Thanks to you both for your suggestions however I eventually found that the problem was in some borrowed source that I included in index.html which had :
flash\header.swf instead of : flash/header.swf Apparently, IE and Opera handle \ as if they were / but FireFox does not. Interestingly, my external host server must also do something to handle this since FireFox works fine with the back-slash syntax but not on my local Apache. |

it's good to see people diagnose their own issues.
