Question not secure folder without .htaccess ?
Is it not secure for web folders without .htaccess? can anyone access them directly? I did not use .htaccess because I do not want pop up login. thanks

As in can they see what files are in your directory? By default I believe they can but you change edit your httpd.conf and set it so directories don't show files.

I mean jpg files and other non .html files...

Yes like I said unless you change the setting in your httpd.conf they can normally see them. But why not try it? and see if they can or not.
