Php not carrying out functions on my apache server

I read the tutorial through and through and still my php will only echo it wont carry out simple actions
For example i have a varialble login script that works on my mates host but not on my server

why is this.
It seems to be working but it only echos and prints.

Please help me

Judging by the above, there is a 96% chance that the syntax you are using is wrong, weather working on one of the two servers or not, it is still wrong.

Post your code so we can give you an explanation why it is not working...
