Remote Users Username with Apache 2 on Windows 2000

I can't find the answer to this anywhere. I have installed Apache 2 on to a Windows 2000 Server machine on our Network. What I would like to do is from my cgi scripts get the remote users username (ie the username they logged on to the network with) I know this is possible in IIS as we have an intranet server that does this. But this new server is faster and I prefer Apache to IIS. Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so how?

Thanks
