RH9 std Apache will not show Flash!!!

Hi everyone,

I am running a Red Hat 9 box, pleanty of memory, processor power etc. and for some odd reason when I drop some flash into my default Doc folder it will not display!! When accessed for any browser! I used the same flash files on a IIS server and it works just fine, so I know my flash is ok, I guess there must be something to configure in Apache! It's a basic install that comes with RH9, all I changed was the default doc's folder location.

Does anyone know why we can't see the flash documents work on my Apache server? Odd that it works on IIS. IIS is running on the same H/W W2K Server SP4

Help

Check /etc/mime.types to make sure the swf type is listed. If it's not, add it (by adding the line "application/x-shockwave-flash swf"), restart apache, and see if that does the trick. I'd be really surprised if this type wasn't in the config out of the box, but it doesn't hurt to check.
