Right. Apache

I have set up the php putting all hte right files in the right place without the installer. Ive edit the file in the APache\conf folder. adding all that i need. But there is one problem. My Apache doesnt work. When i click monitor Apache servers i get a box with 1 list box and a text box ( i thnk) anyway my point is the OK and EXIT buttons are the only ones enabled. I need the Restart one enabled. Any ideas? Ive tried restarteing the machince, reinstalling. If its any help the help files are not there it sais i should browse. please help me.

try
./apachectl start
in the apache/bin directory...
should do the job
