Running IIS & Apache on Win2K box - minor problem
Hi all,
My first post here, having just joined up. I have a Windows 2000 Advanced Server that I have been quite successfully running Apache, PHP and MySQL on for a while. I recently installed Apache ASP and that runs perfectly. Until now, I have kept IIS disabled on this machine, as I didn't need it. But now I am going to have to use Microsoft's ASP for a new project. So I need to enable IIS. I've changed Apache's httpd.conf file so that the server now listens on port 8080. The default site loads fine when I type in the address http://myserver:8080. The problem is that I have been using name-based virtual hosts to run other development sites on the server, and now none of these load correctly. The default site comes up instead. Can anyone tell me what I might have to do to resolve this? |

Update!
It turned out to be a bizarre Zone Alarm problem. I began to suspect this when I found that, from the server itself, I could view the sites as normal. So I shut down Zone Alarm on the server and tried again from another machine. It worked straight away. ZA is good, but it can be a real pain in the rear, particularly when you know perfectly well you've configured it properly and yet it still blocks something you've told it to allow! |
