??????Servers????? :::: Totally confused

Hello,My name is Karan. And I am from India...

I am interested in the field of webdevelopment..I have made some static sites using HTML and Photoshop now I want to learn to develop dynamic sites...So I have choosed two languages to learn..

ASP.net (C#) and PHP

I have joined one computer training institute for the ASP.net and I am thinking to start PHP by my own with the help of e-books because no courses of PHP are here...anyways....lets come to the point...

I am thinking to install servers in my computer....


I have a computer with core2duo processor (1.86 GHz)
160 gb harddisk
1.5 gb ram
Broadband Connection

and I want to practice both ASP.net and PHP on my Computer...

So I have decided to install server.. i am writing to condition below please have look on it..and please tell me that it is possible or not....(I am using my computer for my personal works also)

:::::::::First Condition ::::::::

Two operating systems that are Linux and Windows

Linux with :- Apache,PHP, MYSQL, Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress , FTP Server, Mail Server....and etc whatever is needed...

Windows with :- IIS server, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Studio, Joomla, Wordpress and whatever is needed like mailserver or ftp server...

:::::::::Second condition ::::::::

One operation system only windows with all the above compnents


1. Are both conditions are possible...?
2. Which condition will be better for me ?
3. Is there any other way ( if any ,please suggest) ?

I am a dummie in this field and need your help please help me...I will wait for your reply...Thanks very much......

if you have windows already installed you can save some head ache. install Ms virtual PC then install either linux on that or windows heck both. that way your working comp an dOS isn't messed with untill you find what one you want to go with. i chose linux with those servers.
