setting up a server
Hi. I set up an Apache server with windows xp. I was wanting to set it up so that i can host web sites to some people i know but im not sure how to go about doing that ...do i need cpanel? or is there a different way? any help or suggestions would be great thanks

You might need to set up some VirtualHosts
Are they each going to have their own domain name? A Very simple solution could be to give them all their own folders under the document root... so then to access their page that would go to http://(your-ip)/their-folder You could set up an FTP, grant them an account, and give that account access to their folder. This is a simple, unprofessional solution... depends on how you want your friends to have access. |
